Morton's NeuromaMorton's Neuroma

Morton’s Neuroma is a common problem involving a portion of the nerve in the forefoot.

The involved nerve lies between the 3rd and 4th toes and becomes irritiated between the metatarsal joints.

Morton’s neuroma has been a problem long associated with high-heeled women’s shoes and people who frequently squat while working.

At times, injections may be helpful, although corticosteroids are generally avoided. An injection allows more precise diagnosis of your problem and may provide prolonged relief. Traditionally, surgical excision of the portion of nerve has been indicated, although more recently our doctors have been able to treat Morton’s neuromas nonsurgically with RFNA – radiofrequency nerve ablation.
